Artificial intelligence is transforming the workplace and higher education at an astonishing pace. Since OpenAI made ChatGPT freely accessible in November 2022, AI, its potential, and its impacts have become omnipresent. Almost two years later, numerous AI tools and applications have emerged, transforming activities and processes in all areas of life.
The job application process is also evolving due to artificial intelligence. But how can I leverage this to my advantage during the application phase? How can AI assist me in applying for internships, thesis projects, or my first job, and increase my chances of getting an interview invitation?
More and more companies are incorporating AI and algorithms into their hiring processes. However, this doesn't have to be a disadvantage for applicants if they consider it in their applications. In this interactive presentation, we will explore the potential of AI for the application process.
Learning Objectives
Students will…
• Learn how to create their applications more quickly, personally, and clearly with the help of artificial intelligence.
• Discover the current role of AI in the various stages of the application process and where its use is beneficial.
• Be able to utilize the advantages of artificial intelligence in the long term for creating and optimizing their applications, thereby simplifying their application process.
• Understand how and why HR departments use AI and other algorithms in the application process and what effects this has on the application experience.
Requirements
• A PC, laptop, or tablet with a stable internet connection, as well as video and audio capabilities.
• A good group dynamic is essential for the presentation, which includes being able to see each other as in face-to-face events. Therefore, having the camera turned on during the presentation is encouraged.
Format and Methods
The topic will be presented in an interactive lecture format. Throughout the presentation, there will be numerous opportunities to actively participate by asking questions, taking part in polls, and sharing personal experiences. All questions will be answered directly, and the lecture will be tailored to the learning objectives of the participants. The process of creating AI-generated applications will also be demonstrated live. After the presentation, participants will receive comprehensive documentation.
